With one click, users can view Facebook profile information and lifestyle preferences, send Facebook messages, view mutual friends and request a roommate.

Our detailed lifestyle preference questionnaire is completed by each user. During the search process, users can refer to these completed questionnaires to learn more about potential roommates like preferred bedtime and the best time for visitors.

These questions are 100% customizable for housing departments.

View Facebook profile interests

Facebook Mini-Profile

Facebook profiles are highly accurate to what a person is like in real life, which makes these profiles a fantastic roommate matching resource. There have even been studiesdone showing this correlation between Facebook profiles and true information.

The mini-profile gives users a glimpse into the Facebook profiles of potential roommates. Mini-profiles list interests and activities listed in full Facebook profiles of users.

Save Potential Matches For Later

Tag Potential Roommates

If users are not yet ready to request someone as a roommate, they can tag that person as a potential roommate.

This will be added to their ‘Potential Roommates’ section, where they can make the official roommate request at a later time during the roommate selection period.

Search roommates by Facebook interests

Search by Facebook Interests

There could be hundreds or even thousands of users within a roommate matching network. The RoomSync search feature lets users search for any keyword of interest listed in anyone’s Facebook profile.

If a user prefers to live with someone who plays soccer, they simply type ‘soccer’ into the search bar and everyone who has the word listed in their Facebook profile will come up in a results page.

Search by Major or Housing Preference

Users can easily search roommates based on desired major. Listed majors are customized for each institution.

Users can search roommates based on where other users would prefer to live on-campus. Listed residence halls are customized for each institution.

Send Facebook Messages

Users send messages to one another directly on Facebook.

They can exchange greetings and contact information easily through their Facebook inbox, something that students check every day.

Request Roommates

When two students have agreed to live together, a user clicks the ‘Request Roommate’ button. The request is sent to the other user for confirmation.

After the match has been made, the new roommate request appears on the users’ RoomSync home page.

RoomSync Mobile

Users can access RoomSync anytime, anywhere from their mobile devices.

The RoomSync iOS and Android apps give students real-time notifications regarding requests and announcements, along with access to features found on the desktop Facebook app.
